Polish electric‑scooter accidents injure minors in Piotrków and Wara
On 30 July a 13‑year‑old boy rode an electric scooter without a helmet on Słowackiego Street in Piotrków Trybunalski, lost control near a railway crossing, fell and was taken to hospital. Police noted the compulsory helmet rule for riders under 16 that will take effect in June 2026.
In a separate incident in the village of Wara, Brzozów County, an 11‑year‑old boy and friends used electric scooters to spin a playground carousel. The carousel accelerated beyond normal speed; the boy was thrown onto the ground and hospitalized in Rzeszów. Authorities reminded parents of the March ban on children under 13 operating electric scooters on public roads and urged safety precautions.
Both accidents prompted police appeals for helmet use and parental supervision of young riders.
