Polish emergency services announce recruitment and salary details

Public service agencies in Poland are actively recruiting new personnel. The Silesian Police have announced two upcoming recruitment dates for 2026: September 16 and December 30. The final number of recruits will depend on available vacancies within the garrison. Entry-level salaries for police officers vary based on age, with those under 26 receiving approximately 6,339 PLN net, while those over 26 receive about 5,833 PLN net. Specialized units in Katowice, Bielsko-Biała, and Częstochowa offer higher rates.

Simultaneously, the State Fire Service (PSP) is seeking to fill nearly 1,700 positions. Starting salaries for trainees begin at approximately 6,111 PLN gross, with averages around 6,584 PLN gross. Total compensation for firefighters can reach significantly higher levels due to various allowances, including rank, functional, and motivational bonuses, as well as housing benefits ranging from 900 to 1,800 PLN. The PSP utilizes a 20-tier salary structure where multipliers are applied to a base amount.
