Polish emergency services complete rescue championships and large-scale drills

Emergency services in Poland have recently participated in significant training and competitive events to enhance public safety and inter-agency cooperation.

In Jastrzębie Zdrój, firefighters from Warsaw were honored at the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service following their performance in the II Polish Technical Rescue Championships. Representing the Mazovian Voivodeship, the seven-member team secured seventh place out of 18 competing teams. The competition required participants to navigate complex scenarios based on real-world technical rescue interventions, including site securing and situational analysis.

Separately, authorities in Lubin conducted a debriefing for the ‘Joker 2026’ exercises held at the Aeroklub Zagłębia Miedziowego. The large-scale drill involved medical teams, the Air Ambulance Service, and the Prison Service, simulating continuous, high-intensity scenarios such as fires and medical emergencies. Lower Silesian Deputy Voivode Artur Jurkowski praised the integration of the various formations and suggested that future exercises should incorporate military participation and war-related threat scenarios.
