Polish employees frequently check work email while on vacation
A recent HRK consulting analysis, conducted with Wakacje.pl, found that one in four employees in Poland accesses their work inbox during holiday breaks. More than 80 % of respondents said relaxation is the primary purpose of their vacation, yet 25 % reported contacting their employer several times while away. Psychologists warn that this “always‑on” habit can cause anxiety, sleep disturbances and, over time, burnout. Experts recommend completing pending tasks before leave, setting automatic email replies, temporarily uninstalling work apps and avoiding scheduling meetings immediately after returning.
The study also notes a growing trend of “workations,” where workers combine remote work with travel, rising by over 30 % between 2024 and 2025. While some companies encourage structured remote‑work trips, the underlying pressure to stay continuously productive remains a challenge for employee well‑being.
