Polish employees grapple with vacation stress, digital FOMO and sabbatical benefits

A Polish business‑psychology interview notes that many workers feel guilty when they stop working on holiday, describing the phenomenon as a "schizophrenia of rest." Psychologist Małgorzata Dobrowolska advises clear hand‑overs, autoresponders and limited work blocks to protect regeneration.

A separate survey of Polish holidaymakers found that 37% spend 1–3 hours per day on smartphones, 34% use screens for 3–5 hours, and only 9% manage a true digital detox. Respondents cited fear of missing out (FOMO) and pop‑culture influences as major drivers of vacation behaviour, while 28% reported overspending.

Another feature highlights a sabbatical scheme at the Polish firm JohnnyBros, where employees can take up to two months of paid leave after five years of service, receiving 70 % of their salary. The policy aims to recharge staff and improve productivity upon return.
