Polish energy and chemical sectors report H1 2026 progress

Major Polish energy and chemical companies have reported their financial and operational progress for the first half of 2026.

Grupa Azoty reported an improvement in consolidated EBITDA profitability compared to the previous year, despite geopolitical tensions and rising energy raw material costs, such as natural gas. To address market challenges and improve efficiency, the company is pursuing a restructuring plan that includes the sale of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins to Orlen, debt restructuring negotiations with banks, and preparations for a share issue to the State Treasury.

Enea has expanded its renewable energy sources (RES) portfolio, reaching a total installed capacity of 730.3 MW by the end of June 2026. The company secured over 417 million PLN from the National Recovery Plan for photovoltaic projects and is developing large-scale energy storage facilities. Additionally, Enea is progressing with the construction of gas-fired blocks at the Kozienice Power Plant and has signed a 1.23 billion PLN agreement with Gaz-System for long-term LNG regasification services.
