Polish energy operators launch PEIH to bolster infrastructure integration

Polish energy infrastructure operators have established the Polish Energy Infrastructure House (PEIH) in Brussels to promote sector integration and energy security. The association aims to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of energy systems by coordinating electricity, gas, and fuel infrastructure. PEIH intends to participate in European regulatory debates regarding infrastructure development, financing, and the electrification of the economy.

Simultaneously, Konfederacja Lewiatan has expressed concerns regarding proposed Polish legislative changes that could increase financial burdens on energy companies. The organization warns that new projects, including amendments to the Energy Law, could lead to a tenfold increase in concession fees. Such costs may reduce the ability of energy firms to fund necessary investments for the energy transition, such as power grids, storage, and new generation capacities, potentially hindering long-term efforts to lower energy prices.
