Polish entrepreneur Łukasz Droździel discusses Polish-British relations
Łukasz Droździel, a Polish entrepreneur and founder of the Polish Jazz Festival in London, shared his perspectives on the Polish diaspora and historical relations between Poland and the United Kingdom. Having lived in the UK since 2005, Droździel noted that his long-term residency provides a neutral perspective on the dynamic changes experienced by Poland.
Reflecting on World War II, Droździel expressed pride in the contributions of Polish pilots to the British cause, noting their lasting impact on British collective memory. However, he also expressed disappointment regarding the failure of allies, specifically citing the Anglo-Polish Mutual Assistance Pact of August 1939 and the British-French Guarantee of April 1939, suggesting that honoring such pacts might have altered the course of the German occupation.
