Polish entrepreneurs detained in military equipment fraud case
Two entrepreneurs have been detained by the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) in connection with a fraud involving the supply of personal equipment for the Polish Army. The investigation reveals that between 2023 and 2024, the suspects won two tenders for a military unit based in Wrocław.
Authorities allege that the individuals intentionally concealed that the delivered equipment did not meet the required public procurement specifications. This fraudulent activity resulted in a loss to the State Treasury exceeding 20 million PLN.
The operation involved the CBA Wrocław branch, the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office, and soldiers from the Military Gendarmerie. Searches were conducted at the suspects' residences, business locations, and the 4th Regional Logistics Base in Wrocław.
A court has applied a three-month temporary arrest to the suspects, who face charges of large-scale property fraud. Additionally, prosecutors have issued asset security orders totaling over 45 million PLN covering real estate, cash, and bank account receivables.
