Polish entrepreneurship: Market verification and youth business competitions

Experts at the PARP Future Camp 2026 emphasized that a good idea alone does not guarantee start-up success. Key requirements for founders include early market verification to ensure products meet real needs, building teams with complementary skills, and seeking mentorship to validate business assumptions. A report by the Polish Development Fund (PFR) identified product-market mismatch and lack of post-program strategies as significant barriers for Polish entrepreneurs.

In the educational sector, the Faculty of Management Engineering at Białystok University of Technology has launched the 7th edition of the ‘Business for a Million’ national competition for high school students. Participants are tasked with creating business plans demonstrating how they would utilize a 1 million PLN budget. Prizes include university admission indices, Apple equipment, and educational vouchers. The initiative is part of the ‘Entrepreneurial Young Podlasie’ project, which includes workshops on marketing and artificial intelligence.
