Polish Episcopal Conference announces synodal parish renewal program

The Polish Episcopal Conference has announced the pastoral program theme for the 2026/2027 year, focusing on the renewal of parishes through a synodal and missionary approach. During the 404th Plenary Meeting, bishops signaled a desire to redefine the parish not merely as an administrative unit, but as a community of people with God and among one another.

Bishop Andrzej Czaja, chairman of the Commission for Pastoral Care, stated that the focus will remain on key areas including Christian initiation, the liturgical-prayer dimension, catechesis, brotherhood, and synodal management. This initiative follows the guidelines of the Synod on Synodality, aiming to revitalize parish life in alignment with the Church's missionary nature.
