Polish Episcopal Conference prepares for 100th World Mission Sunday

The Polish Episcopal Conference has announced preparations for the 100th World Mission Sunday, which will be observed on October 18 under the theme ‘One in Christ, united in mission’. In Poland, the observance will be extended into a Mission Week to celebrate and highlight the needs of missionaries.

During a press briefing, Bishop Szymon Stułkowski emphasized that the mission begins with baptism and noted that the heart itself can be the most challenging mission territory. Bishop Marek Marczak added that missionary engagement is a sign of a living parish community. The upcoming observance will include calls for both prayer and financial donations to support missionary work.

In a separate religious event in Poznań, Christians of various denominations gathered for the XXIV Ecumenical Bible Festival. Led by Archbishop Zbigniew Zieliński and Presbyter Marek Głodek, the service focused on the theme ‘Behold, I make all things new’, featuring joint scripture readings and prayers for church unity and global peace.
