Polish Episcopate appoints two priests to Pastoral Commission
During the 406th Plenary Meeting of the Polish Episcopal Conference (KEP), two priests from the Radom Diocese, Rev. Dr. Maciej Będziński and Rev. Prof. Marek Chmielewski, were appointed to the KEP Pastoral Commission.
Rev. Maciej Będziński serves as the national director of Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland. He holds a doctorate from Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) and noted that his appointment continues a tradition of involving mission-focused leadership in pastoral planning.
Rev. Prof. Marek Chmielewski is a theologian specializing in Catholic spirituality and a professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL).
The Pastoral Commission is one of 11 bodies within the KEP. Comprised of both clergy and laypeople, the commission analyzes the current pastoral situation in Poland to prepare the Church's Pastoral Program, which establishes specific goals and implementation methods for ministry across the country.
