Tatra National Park begins repairs on Rysy and Zawrat trails, causing delays

From 20 July, the Tatra National Park started renovation work on two popular high‑mountain trails leading to Rysy and Zawrat. On the red trail from Czarny Staw to Rysy minor surface repairs are being carried out, while on the blue trail from Hala Gąsienicowa to Zawrat the upper section’s protection chains are being replaced. Both routes remain open, but hikers may encounter temporary stoppages and be asked to wait for work crews. Park officials advise visitors to bring warmer clothing, be prepared for brief pauses, and follow the instructions of the teams on site. The park also reminds that other repairs continue on the trail from Wielka Polana Małołącka through Grzybowiec Pass and on a black‑marked trail to the shelter in the Five Lakes Valley. No trail sections are closed, and the completion date will depend on weather conditions.
