Polish F-16s participate in Black Sea reconnaissance mission
Polish F-16 Jastrząb fighter jets from the 31st Tactical Air Base participated in a complex, multinational reconnaissance operation over the Black Sea. The mission was conducted alongside Belgian F-16s and French Rafale fighters, as well as allied support and reconnaissance aircraft.
The operation aimed to enhance interoperability among NATO forces on the eastern flank, specifically focusing on improving joint capabilities in airspace and maritime environments while ensuring adherence to international law. The mission emphasized real-time information exchange and coordinated actions between different types of combat and reconnaissance platforms.
A key technical aspect of the mission involved long-endurance operations. The Polish F-16s remained airborne for approximately eight hours, during which they performed three mid-air refuelings from a French Airbus A330 MRTT tanker to extend their operational range and duration.
