Polish families compare 800 plus with German Kindergeld and 'Mama 4+' pension

Poland’s 800 plus family allowance provides 800 zł per child until the child turns 18, regardless of family income. In Germany, the Kindergeld benefit of €259 (about 1,100 zł) can be claimed for children who continue education, extending eligibility up to age 25 for students, apprentices and trainees.

Poland also runs the “Mama 4+” programme, granting a pension‑style benefit of up to 1,978.49 zł per month to parents who have raised at least four children, even if they have never been employed. The scheme currently applies to mothers over 60 and, in limited cases, fathers over 65. Authorities are considering extending the entitlement to fathers more broadly and allowing both parents to receive the benefit simultaneously, which could raise the combined monthly payout to about 3,956 zł.
