Polish families curb travel insurance and limit kids' outings as costs rise

A new Allianz Partners survey shows that 76% of Poles forgo travel insurance, with only 51% planning to purchase a policy for their holiday. Domestic trips dominate, chosen by 58% of respondents, while popular foreign destinations include Greece (7.3%), Italy (6.8%) and Spain (6.7%). Most travellers budget 2,500‑5,000 zł per person, and financial constraints are the main reason people stay home.

A separate BLIK study reveals that 84% of parents give their children pocket money, often over 300 zł a month for teenagers. Despite the allowances, many children now skip social activities and outings because of rising prices. The research highlights how rising living costs are influencing both adult travel decisions and youth discretionary spending in Poland.
