Polish farmer faces 150,000 PLN repair costs after corn cob damage
Mariusz Szostakowski, a farmer from Polskie Łąki in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, reported significant machinery damage after a corn cob entered his forage harvester. The incident occurred during the peak of the corn harvesting season, causing the machine to vibrate violently and the engine to shut down automatically.
The damage to the cutting system and the pulverizer is estimated to cost approximately 150,000 PLN, with a single component valued at 100,000 PLN. This mechanical failure has resulted in a forced stoppage during a critical period for the farmer, who also provides corn harvesting services. This is the second time such an incident has occurred for Szostakowski, following a similar event eight years ago.
