Polish farmers to get earlier 2026 subsidy payments and extended application deadline

Poland’s Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR) closed the 2026 direct and area‑based subsidy application round on 26 June after receiving more than 1.162 million requests. The average farm size in the program rose to about 12 ha, with a notable rise in applications from small farms and an eco‑scheme for animal welfare. ARiMR has begun verifying the submissions and is conducting administrative checks, using satellite monitoring to confirm land use.

The European Commission has agreed to advance the direct‑payment instalments, allowing payouts to start on 30 September instead of the usual mid‑October schedule, and to consider higher advance amounts. This aims to improve cash flow for farmers ahead of the autumn production period.

Separately, the Ministry of Agriculture is drafting a regulation to extend the deadline for seed‑material subsidy applications from 10 July to 31 July 2026 and to increase the per‑hectare rates, up to 420 zł for potatoes under the ecological seed‑material scheme. A parallel “young farmer” grant of 200 000–300 000 zł remains open for applications until 30 July 2026.
