Polish film “Odzyskany” premieres nationwide on Aug 14 2026

“Odzyskany”, the full‑length directorial debut of Marcin Kwaśny, will be shown in cinemas across Poland from 14 August 2026. The drama follows Janek, a young man caring for his seriously ill mother while coping with his father’s alcoholism, and explores themes of family, addiction, forgiveness and hope.

The cast includes Filip Gurłacz, Maria Gładkowska and Andrzej Mastalerz, with music by Robert Janson. Rafael Film is the distributor. Production was supported by the Fundacja „Między Słowami”, the Polish National Fund, KGHM Polska Miedź and several cultural foundations, and financed by Shade Service and RAVEN Brands for Life. Critics have praised the film’s authenticity, emotional intensity and strong performances.

The release coincides with the Catholic month of sobriety, underscoring the film’s focus on overcoming personal challenges.
