Polish film tourism grows as Zamość Film Festival announces winners

Poland is seeing a rise in film tourism, with historical sites like the Nieborów Palace and the Arkadia park becoming major attractions for viewers wanting to visit locations from famous productions. The Nieborów Palace, formerly owned by the Radziwiłł family, has been featured in works such as Andrzej Wajda’s ‘Popioły’, while the Arkadia park served as a setting for ‘Akademia Pana Kleksa’.

In the realm of cinematic achievements, the 14th Zamość Film Festival ‘Meetings with History’ recently announced its winners. The documentary ‘Matka wołyńskich sierot’, directed by Maria Pisarek, received the top prize and the ‘Zamość – Pearl of the Renaissance’ statuette for outstanding historical documentary filmmaking. Other notable awards included a Special Jury Prize for ‘Rozproszona zagłada’ and the Audience Award for ‘ZINA widzieć’ by Grzegorz Styła.
