Polish fire services combat massive warehouse blaze and storm aftermath
On the night of 4 July, a huge fire engulfed a metal‑frame warehouse in Lenartow, central Poland. More than 120 firefighters from two counties and the Łódź province fought the blaze for several hours. The fire caused the roof to collapse, threatened nearby homes and fields, and forced crews to bring water by tankers after a sudden drop in hydrant pressure. The blaze was finally extinguished at about 06:48.
A few days earlier, on 1–2 July, strong winds and thunderstorms swept the Mielec county. The most affected area was the village of Wadowice Górne, where 18 emergency calls were logged. Firefighters secured damaged roofs on three residential buildings, three farm structures and a fire station, and cleared fallen trees that blocked roads and threatened power lines.
On 2 July in the Dębica county, fire crews responded to a series of unusual incidents: a false bomb threat at an office building, a search for an escaped goat, a minor road collision at Klecie, and the cleanup of an oil‑spillage on a highway. No fires were reported during those operations.
