Polish volunteer fire brigades host leadership changes, training drills and community celebrations

In June 2026, various Polish volunteer fire brigades marked a series of local events. In Radomyśl Wielki, longtime OSP president Eugeniusz Ryba stepped down after more than 30 years and was succeeded by Marek Dubiel. A joint fire‑police training exercise in Warsaw employed an S‑70i Black Hawk helicopter, testing high‑altitude rescue, water‑dropping buckets and rapid equipment deployment for forest fire response.

The town of Fordon held a multigenerational festival where police officers educated children on road and water safety, while the fire brigade showcased a mascot and a police radio car. Gniezno opened its fire station to families for a "Firefighters for Children" day, offering equipment displays, a fire‑engine driving experience and safety lessons. Siedlce commemorated Firefighter Day with an official ceremony, awarding medals and promotions to dozens of personnel. In Zduńska Wola, the county celebrated the same day with a mass, flag‑raising and further awards, recognizing long‑service and granting new ranks.
