Polish firms invest over 100 million zł in low‑carbon power and EV infrastructure

ECO Group is building a second high‑efficiency gas‑fired cogeneration plant in Opole, worth about 70 million zł. The 8 MWe/8 MWt unit will replace coal with gas, cutting CO₂ emissions by more than 35 kt per year and saving the equivalent of over 4 500 t of coal annually.

Energa Operator secured a 38 million‑zł grant from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management to modernise three key 110/15 kV substations in the Kuyavian‑Pomeranian region. The upgrades will increase capacity for electric‑vehicle charging points along major transport corridors.

Polska Grupa Biogazowa (PGB) completed an expansion of its Dzierżki biogas plant, adding a 0.5 MW cogeneration module and upgrading the biogas purification system. The plant’s total capacity will rise to 1.498 MWe and 1.621 MWt, raising annual electricity output to 12 466 MWh and heat production to 13 489 MWhth, supporting local energy resilience.
