Polish firms weigh emoji use in workplace communication
Polish companies are increasingly incorporating emojis, shortcuts and reaction icons into internal emails and instant‑messenger chats as the line between formal and informal language blurs. The shift is linked to faster, hybrid work models and a growing emphasis on open, collaborative corporate culture.
Experts stress that the challenge is not the emoji itself but using it appropriately. Iwona Borawska, scaling specialist at CEI The Process®, notes, “The key question is not whether to use emojis, but when and with whom they are suitable.” A brief “Thank you for the quick response 😊” can convey warmth, while a 👍 can replace longer acknowledgments, but misinterpretations are possible if the audience interprets symbols differently.
