Polish First Lady Marta Nawrocka Honors WWII Women, Discloses Customs Career

First Lady Marta Nawrocka placed a wreath at the monument dedicated to the women of the Warsaw Uprising, marking the 82nd anniversary of the 1944 revolt. The ceremony was announced by the President's Chancellery and highlighted the contributions of female medics, couriers, radio operators and combatants.

Nawrocka also revealed that before becoming the president's spouse she spent nearly two decades as an officer in the Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa (Polish Customs Service). In that role she oversaw controls of the oil and spirits sectors, fought illegal trade and gambling, and received training in firearms and restraint techniques.

Her background, combining public service in customs enforcement with her current ceremonial duties, underscores the varied experience she brings to the role of first lady.
