Polish former diplomats clash over National Security Council invitations
A heated verbal confrontation occurred between former deputy foreign ministers Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk and Andrzej Szejna during a televised debate. The dispute centered on the upcoming National Security Council meeting scheduled for November 3.
The argument was triggered by discussions regarding whether representatives from the Konfederacja and Konfederacja Korony Polskiej parties should be invited. Szynkowski vel Sęk, representing Rozwoju Plus, argued that the President, as the host, holds sole authority over the guest list. He expressed strong criticism of Grzegorz Braun and his political group.
During the exchange, the rhetoric escalated into personal attacks. Szynkowski vel Sęk accused Szejna of being a “disgrace to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” and claimed he lacked knowledge of foreign policy, capitals, and flags. Szejna responded by calling Szynkowski vel Sęk a “disgrace to the Polish diplomatic service” and an advocate for Russian interests.
