Polish Foundations Fund Rural Arts Workshops and Prison Theatre Project

The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Fund of ORLEN financed a cultural program titled “Z kulturą na wioski” that ran from September to May in the villages of Bobrówko, Ogardy and Tuczno. The Strzelecki Cultural Centre delivered scrapbooking, fashion design, macramé and ceramics workshops for primary‑school children, culminating in a community fest that showcased the participants’ creations. The project received a grant of 21,000 zł and aimed to broaden cultural access for children living far from cultural centres.

A separate Polish‑Italian initiative, supported by the EU Erasmus+ programme, brings together the Strzelecki Cultural Centre and the Italian organization CCO – Crisi come Opportunità. The partnership will develop and test theatre, improvisation and stand‑up methods for use in prisons, with international labs in Warsaw (September) and Sardinia (February). The collaboration will produce a free toolkit of methods and scenarios to aid the social reintegration of inmates.
