Polish game studios gear up for Gamescom 2026 amid CD Projekt reveal and Mighty Koi controversy

Gamescom 2026 will take place from 26 to 30 August in Cologne, Germany, drawing more than 300,000 visitors and over a thousand exhibitors. Polish developers are slated to attend under the Creative Poland promotion, showcasing the country's gaming sector on the global stage.

CD Projekt confirmed its presence, announcing that it will unveil details of the upcoming Witcher 3 expansion “Songs of the Past,” planned for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The studio also highlighted its business‑to‑business activities, meeting investors and partners during the event.

A separate Facebook post briefly listed the Warsaw studio Mighty Koi as a Polish representative at Gamescom. The post was quickly removed, sparking criticism and accusations of a scandal due to the studio’s ongoing financial disputes, alleged investor deception, and low company valuation. Critics called the inclusion a “scandal” and questioned the decision to promote Mighty Koi alongside established Polish developers.
