Polish local governments secure EU funds for infrastructure and community projects
Municipalities across Poland announced the receipt of European Union funding for a range of local projects. In Suwałki, the city council presented the 2027 citizen‑budget results, noting a drop in voter turnout to 4,327 votes and the approval of three large‑scale projects, including an MTB XC trail, a family integration park and a street‑land for padel and pickleball, alongside several smaller initiatives.
The regional authorities also signed contracts allocating nearly 8 million zł to five gminas – Rutka‑Tartak, Krasnopol, Raczki, Puńsk and the municipal water company in Sejny – for water‑network modernisation and renewable‑energy installations, financed by the EU Fund for Podlaskie 2021‑2027.
In the village of Świetlina, a grant from the national "Strengthen Your Environment" program will finance an aeration fountain and the introduction of fish and aquatic plants to improve water quality.
Gmina Rzekuń (Mazovia) received over 127 thousand zł for a renewable‑energy programme and 300 thousand zł for renovating the roof of its sports hall, while the local parish obtained an additional 300 thousand zł for roof works.
The historic Willa Krzywoń in Rabka‑Zdrój will be restored with more than €3.4 million (about 7.7 million zł) of Interreg Poland‑Slovakia funding, covering structural repairs, accessibility upgrades and cultural‑centre conversion.
Finally, Gmina Kleszczewo signed a contract to build a selective waste‑collection point in Nagradowice, with EU backing covering roughly 2.6 million zł of the 3.8 million zł project cost.
