Polish government officials face scrutiny over undisclosed assets

Concerns have been raised regarding the lack of transparency in the asset declarations of several deputy ministers within Donald Tusk’s government. Despite managing vast public funds—including hundreds of billions of PLN for military modernization, energy projects, and the national budget—many key officials have not made their private wealth public.

Specific officials noted include Finance Deputy Minister Jarosław Neneman, whose past ties to the brewing industry have drawn scrutiny regarding alcohol excise duties, and Hanna Majszczyk, who oversees budget planning. Other officials with non-public declarations include Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka (Ministry of National Defence), Konrad Gołota (Ministry of State Assets), and Wojciech Wrochna (Ministry of Energy).

In contrast, Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s financial status is partially visible through his declarations. His filings show significant cash savings totaling approximately 1.5 million PLN (in PLN and EUR) and life insurance policies, though he declares no real estate or vehicles. Additionally, Tusk receives multiple monthly pension payments, including a substantial pension from the European Commission stemming from his former role as President of the European Council.
