Polish Handball Federation holds referee seminar in Łódź

The Polish Handball Federation (ZPRP) held a three-day seminar for referees and delegates in Łódź from August 28 to 30. The event, organized by the ZPRP Referees and Delegates College, took place alongside the Polish Super Cup matches for women and men at the Atlas Arena.

Participants focused on preparing for the 2026/2027 season by standardizing work methods, interpreting current rules, and reviewing Video Replay protocols. The program included specialized training for referees in the PRO2028 program, conducted in cooperation with the LOTTO Superliga, aimed at professionalizing high-level officiating.

In addition to theoretical training, officials underwent physical assessments, including motor skill tests and running tests, to ensure readiness. Joanna Brehmer, chair of the ZPRP Referees and Delegates College, stated that the goal is to create a long-term, consistent development system rather than isolated initiatives. Currently, seven Polish referee pairs compete at the EHF level, with others receiving IHF nominations.
