Poland implements autumn health and safety initiatives

Poland is currently implementing several national safety and health initiatives focused on the autumn season.

Health authorities, including the Ministry of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, are promoting the ‘Autumn without Infection’ and ‘Prevention – Pass it On’ campaigns. These initiatives encourage regular medical screenings and vaccinations to combat seasonal respiratory infections such as influenza, COVID-19, and RSV.

In wildlife management, a nationwide campaign is underway to vaccinate foxes against rabies using oral baits distributed by air and on the ground. The Polish Hunting Association has issued warnings to the public to avoid touching these baits.

Regarding civil defense, the Ministry of Interior and Administration, in cooperation with Caritas, is conducting workshops to prepare citizens for crisis situations. Additionally, local authorities are conducting exercises, such as ‘Wisła-26’, to test flood response and civil protection capabilities.

Public safety measures also extend to forest management, where the Forest Guard has launched the ‘Autumn 26’ operation to monitor illegal vehicle entry and prevent forest damage during the mushroom picking season. Meanwhile, police are warning property owners about increased theft risks in gardens and garages as the season ends.
