Polish health experts give seasonal advice for runners and heat‑exposed citizens
Running coaches in Poland recommend that autumn training be supported by appropriate clothing layers – a moisture‑wicking base, an insulating middle layer and a wind‑proof outer shell – and that athletes protect their hands and feet, check weather conditions and avoid overheating by not over‑dressing.
Researchers from Finnish and British universities advise that regular sauna sessions, lasting 40‑60 minutes each day for four to six consecutive days, can improve the body’s ability to dissipate heat. The heat‑training effect persists for about a week, but experts warn that sauna use should complement, not replace, hydration and other heat‑wave precautions, as excessive exposure during extreme heat can increase the risk of fainting or heat‑related illness.
