Polish heat wave fuels 332% surge in air‑conditioning installations
During the week of 16‑23 June 2026, extreme temperatures in Poland triggered a sharp rise in demand for air‑conditioning services. Queries for AC installation on the Oferteo platform jumped 332 % compared with the previous week, culminating in a record 835 orders in a single day on 23 June. The strongest demand was recorded in Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków, cities most affected by urban heat islands.
At the same time, traditional construction categories saw notable declines: requests for new home builds fell 27 %, window replacements 17 % and interior renovations 13 %. Service requests for AC maintenance increased 119 %, reflecting a growing base of installed units. Industry experts describe the pattern as “impulse demand”, with consumers reallocating short‑term budgets toward immediate cooling rather than longer‑term building projects.
The trend signals a rapid shift in Polish consumer spending, favoring HVAC solutions over conventional construction during periods of extreme heat.
