Polish hill‑climb and karting championships attract large fields despite weather setbacks

Roman Baran and his team are set to compete in the 23‑car "Wyścig Górski Prządki" hill‑climb weekend at Korczyna from 15‑17 May 2026. The event combines four series – the FIA Historic Cars European Hill‑Climb Championship, the Polish Hill‑Climb Championship, the Slovak International Hill‑Climb Championship and the Central European FIA Hill‑Climb Championship – and will feature drivers from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. Baran entered in multiple classes and aims to score points and win his group.

On 31 May the 59th Polish Karting Championship opened at the Bydgoszcz circuit with 133 entrants across categories such as Mini 60, Baby Rok, Micro Max, KZ2, OK Junior and OK‑N. Heavy rain forced a suspension of the first day’s races, moving the remaining sessions to Saturday. Pole positions and first‑race winners included Jan Woźniak in Mini 60, Jakub Mizera in Baby Rok and Sebastian Janczewski in KZ2.

Both events highlight the strong participation and competitive spirit in Polish motorsport, while weather conditions posed challenges for the karting series.
