Polish home chefs revive classic no‑bake desserts

Ewa Wachowicz’s strawberry foam combines blended fresh strawberries, natural yogurt, gelatin and erythritol for sweetness, layered over a crisp biscuit‑butter base and finished with a light gelatin glaze and fresh mint. The recipe emphasizes a light texture, no added sugar and a quick, fridge‑only preparation.

A nostalgic PRL‑era chocolate block returns to Polish tables, made without an oven using milk powder, butter, cocoa, sugar and optional add‑ins such as biscuits, nuts or dried fruit. The mixture is heated, combined with powdered milk, set in a pan and chilled until firm, offering a simple, retro‑style dessert that recalls the scarcity‑driven ingenuity of the communist period.
