Polish homeowners adopt vertical awnings and external shutters to reduce indoor temperatures

Vertical awnings installed on the exterior of windows can block sunlight before it reaches the glass, lowering indoor temperatures by up to 10 °C and decreasing reliance on air‑conditioning. The devices also let natural light in, can serve as mosquito screens, and protect furniture from UV damage. Several models are offered, including the VMZ surface‑mounted screen, the concealed‑frame VMU for new homes, and the cable‑supported VML.

External roller shutters provide additional benefits: reinforced frames improve burglary resistance, while insulated aluminium or PVC profiles enhance thermal and acoustic performance. Options range from manual operation to electric or solar‑powered systems, allowing remote or programmed control. Both awnings and shutters help homeowners cut heating and cooling costs while maintaining comfort and daylight.
