Polish homes urged to use fans for faster laundry drying and effective cooling

Households in Poland are being advised to place a fan next to a drying rack and, if possible, slightly open a window to speed up the evaporation of moisture from clothing. Adding a dry towel to the final spin cycle and regularly turning garments can further reduce drying time and prevent unpleasant odors.

Separate guidance explains how to set a fan correctly for indoor cooling. During hot daytime hours the fan should blow directly onto occupants while windows remain closed. At night, when outdoor temperatures fall, the fan can be positioned near a window to exhaust warm indoor air, creating cross‑ventilation. For optimal airflow, the fan should be placed 30–100 cm away from the window rather than directly on the sill.
