Polish households raise vacation budgets and increase summer leisure spending
A report by the Polish Bank Association shows that the average Polish person plans to spend 2,042 zł on a summer vacation in 2026, 281 zł more than in 2025, while the average household budget for a holiday rises to 5,105 zł. Eighty percent of respondents say they will not use credit or loans to finance the trip, indicating greater financial caution. More than half (53 %) intend to vacation within Poland, 26 % plan trips abroad and 15 % expect to stay home. Prices for an all‑inclusive week at popular destinations now range from 16,000 to 18,500 zł, with the steepest price increase recorded in Egypt.
A separate Santander Consumer Bank survey finds that 58 % of Poles increase their spending on entertainment and leisure during the summer. The biggest uplift is among 50‑59‑year‑olds (68 %) and residents of towns up to 50,000 inhabitants (67 %). Extra expenses are driven mainly by social gatherings such as barbecues, transport and fuel for trips, and seasonal purchases. Parents with minor children spend more, with 22 % allocating an additional 1,000‑2,000 zł per month and 16 % spending over 2,000 zł. Overall, 31 % of respondents report extra summer leisure spending below 500 zł per month.
