Polish households turn to smart under‑sink heaters and solar balcony systems to cut energy bills

Polish consumers are increasingly adopting energy‑saving water‑heating solutions. One option replaces the traditional electric kettle with an under‑sink “intelligent battery” system that stores hot water in an insulated tank beneath the sink and delivers near‑instant boiling water on demand. Prices start at about 6‑7 thousand złoty plus installation, but manufacturers claim the gradual electricity use and reduced standby heating can lower household electricity bills over time while freeing countertop space.

Another approach uses solar heating on balconies without any grid connection. Simple thermal collectors, off‑grid photovoltaic kits, or DIY black‑hose assemblies can raise water temperature by 20‑30 °C, producing usable hot water (up to 49‑60 °C) for daily needs. These systems are suitable for balconies of 2‑4 m² and can heat tens to hundreds of litres of water per sunny day, offering a renewable alternative for domestic hot‑water supply.
