Polish insurance expands to cover farm equipment in service work and backs public‑project guarantees
In Poland, agricultural machines can remain insured while being used for services at other farms or for client work, provided the farmer declares this use when the policy is taken out. The coverage entails a modest premium increase due to higher utilization and mobility, and insurers advise checking the sum insured, scope and exclusions to ensure claim eligibility. The protection can also extend to transported crops, farm buildings and related assets.
Insurance‑linked guarantees are seeing rapid growth among contractors undertaking large public‑investment projects. Premiums for such guarantees rose 2.6 % in the first quarter of 2026 to 163.96 million zł, while payouts surged 43‑fold to 138.5 million zł. Experts note that these guarantees offer faster, more flexible financing than traditional bank guarantees and do not tie up a company’s capital, facilitating the execution of multiple contracts simultaneously.
