Polish interior designers swap carpets for wall panels and modern flooring

Interior designers in Poland say traditional wall‑to‑wall carpets are becoming a relic. They argue that heavy rugs are difficult to clean, collect dust and allergens, and clash with minimalist aesthetics and under‑floor heating. Modern homes are increasingly fitted with easy‑to‑maintain surfaces such as vinyl, linoleum, cork, micro‑concrete or tiles, which also provide visual appeal and durability.

At the same time, soft, three‑dimensional wall panels are gaining popularity as decorative headboards in bedrooms. These panels add depth, a hotel‑like luxury feel and modest acoustic dampening, while remaining simple to install. Designers recommend using panels on a single wall behind the bed and pairing them with neutral colours and complementary lighting to achieve a sleek, functional look.
