Polish journalists engage in heated confrontations
Two separate incidents involving Polish journalists have drawn significant attention. In one instance, Bartłomiej Bublewicz of TVP Info and Michał Gwardyński of TV Republika engaged in a live confrontation outside the headquarters of the National Broadcasting Council. The dispute escalated when Gwardyński questioned Bublewicz regarding the liquidation of public television and funds intended for sick children. Bublewicz responded by citing broadcasting laws regarding the prohibition of content that promotes illegal activities or hate speech.
In a separate event, TVP journalist Marek Czyż sparked controversy during the program ‘Bez Trybu’. While discussing a civil lawsuit filed by Karol Nawrocki against Ringier Axel Springer Polska concerning allegations from a 2025 presidential campaign, Czyż referred to the head of state as a ‘kupler’. This term refers to someone who profits from prostitution. Czyż’s comments were made in the context of a legal dispute over publications involving alleged activities at the Grand Hotel in Sopot.
