Polish Leopard 2PL tanks feature new anti-drone protection
During the ‘Black Defender 26’ military exercises held across the Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, and Lubusz voivodeships, Polish Leopard 2PL tanks were observed featuring extensive anti-drone protective structures. The metal mesh cages cover the turret on all sides, with additional structures protecting the hull sides and parts of the chassis. This protection is noted as being more comprehensive than similar installations seen on other Leopard 2A4 models.
The exercises also involve close cooperation between different military branches. Paratroopers from the 6th Airborne Brigade are working alongside the 11th Armoured Cavalry Division, acting as elite infantry to support tank and Rosomak vehicle operations. This includes practicing fire direction and providing security for armored units using equipment such as Carl-Gustaf grenade launchers and Spike anti-tank missiles.
