ZUS launches nationwide Senior Days to combat disinformation

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) is launching its 10th annual Senior Days throughout Poland during the month of October. This year’s campaign, themed “Senior says: I CHECK. An aware senior in a world of disinformation,” focuses on educating older citizens about identifying fake news, manipulated information, and online or telephone scams.

In addition to combating disinformation, the initiative provides information regarding pensions, social benefits, indexation, and new retiree identification cards. The program includes free meetings, lectures, workshops, and individual consultations held at ZUS facilities, community centers, and local government offices.

Partner institutions will provide expertise on consumer rights, patient protection, financial security, and health-related disinformation. The campaign is co-organized by the Polish Association of Retirees and Pensioners, with support from various national bodies including the Police and the Patient Rights Ombudsman.
