Polish library workshops foster art and comic creation

On 16 July, the Suwałki Public Library held an artistic workshop titled “Ślady światła i słowa”, led by Katowice‑based artist and curator Ewa Kokot. The two‑day event, funded through the Ministry of Culture’s “Partnership for the Book” program, focused on imagination, technical material work and nature‑inspired art practices.

On 9–10 July, the Irena Zarzycka Public Library in Ożarów Mazowiecki organized a two‑day comic‑making workshop for youth called “Creating Historical Comics”. Conducted by Paulina Gałązka of the GoodCulture Foundation and financed by the Museum of Polish History’s “Patriotism of Tomorrow” program, participants learned comic theory, character design, storyboard planning and produced comic narratives about the incorporation of Mazovia into the Polish Kingdom.

Both workshops were part of local cultural‑education initiatives, involving municipal authorities and national cultural bodies, and aimed to engage young people in creative expression through visual arts and storytelling.
