Polish municipalities approve 2025 budgets and grant confidence votes to local executives

In June 2026 dozens of Polish local authorities held annual budget‑review sessions. City councils, gmina and powiat assemblies voted on wotum zaufania (confidence votes) and absolutorium (budget approval) for mayors, wójtowie, burmistrzowie and regional boards.

The votes varied: Skarżysko‑Kamienna’s mayor Arkadiusz Bogucki was denied absolution (5 for, 16 abstentions), while many others received both confidence and absolution, including the Zarząd Powiatu Mieleckiego, Powiat Policki, the mayor of Jasło (budget > 100 million zł, debt 2.7 % of revenue), the Zarząd Województwa Małopolskiego (budget ≈ 3 bn zł, 970 mln zł investment), and the wójt of Ojrzeń Artur Delura. Smaller units such as the Gmina Zagórz, Gmina Czarnocin, Gmina Radgoszcz and Gmina Krasnystaw also approved their executives’ work, often with unanimous or overwhelming majorities.

These approvals confirm that the 2025 budgets were executed in line with financial regulations, enable continuation of local development programmes, and signal stable fiscal management across the country’s municipalities.
