Polish local governments implement digital and cybersecurity upgrades
Local government administrations in Poland are undergoing significant digital and cybersecurity upgrades through various regional and municipal projects.
In the Dębowiec municipality, the “Cybersecure Local Government” project has been completed. Funded by European Funds for Digital Development, the initiative aimed to strengthen information security and incident response capabilities. The project included cybersecurity training, audits, the development of information security management documentation, and the procurement of IT hardware such as servers, UPS power supplies, and UTM network firewalls.
Concurrently, the Mazovian Voivodeship is implementing a large-scale digital transformation project titled “Digital Solutions for Mazovian Administration.” With an estimated total cost of approximately 179 million PLN, the project focuses on modernizing domain systems (including ERP and GIS), digitizing geodetic and cartographic resources, and building regional IT infrastructure. A key component of this initiative is the establishment of a provincial cybersecurity operations center (SOC) to improve the accessibility of e-services for citizens and tools for local officials.
