Polish local road agencies address overgrown roadside vegetation safety hazards

Residents of the Rzekuń‑Daniszewo county road in Poland complained that dense shrubs, high grasses and unmaintained ditches reduced driver visibility, hampered rainwater drainage and posed a danger to motorists, cyclists and nearby residents. The complaint was forwarded to the County Road Board for a response.

In the city of Gliwice, the municipal road management service reported ongoing mowing of more than 2 million m² of roadside green areas. Workers prioritize intersections, drive‑outs, road bends, pedestrian crossings and cycle paths, cutting back fast‑growing vegetation that can obscure signs and road users. The effort aims to improve road safety and road‑side aesthetics, especially after unusually favorable weather spurred rapid plant growth.
